PRESS RELEASE
"Best of Varietal Award Winners Announced"
Saturday, May 6th at the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival Consumer Tasting, the awards for
the Best of Varietal Competition were announced to a record audience of 450 guests.
The Judging was made by the winemakers of the Okanagan according to international
judging standards.
Gordon Bell of CT Private Investment Counsel stated " While these awards recognize
the Best Varietals in the Okanagan, the fact that there were over 160 wines entered is a
strong reminder of the consistently high quality of the wines being made in our Valley and
we are pleased to support this cultural event which is becoming a tradition in the
Okanagan."
Hand made locally sculpted trophies were awarded to the winners in each category and
were supplied by Critchley Designs in Peachland, British Columbia.
